Householder Planning Application Approved

WHC is pleased to share that planning permission has been granted on a project in South Cambridgeshire. This was in collaboration with Tereyn Architects.

The project involved a late 20th century house within a modern estate in the village. Whilst it was a modern dwelling it was partially located within the conservation area and adjacent to several listed buildings. The project included internal and external alterations and extensions, garden structures, relocation of the driveway and entrance, etc. Other works included energy efficiency measures, a green roof, installation of rainwater harvesting tank, installation of PV solar panels to roof and installation of an Air Source Heat Pump.

A pre-application was submitted to gauge the council’s stance on the proposal at an early stage. The response was supportive of the principle and had recommendations that enabled the team to amend the proposal to improve the chances of support by officers.

WHC drafted a Heritage Impact Assessment for the pre-application, attended the pre-app site visit with the council planning officer to respond to any questions or concerns and amended the report for the full application.

WHC works on a variety of projects that include modern and new build properties that may be located within or adjacent to designated or non-designated heritage assets.
