Weiser Heritage Consultancy Celebrates Three Years in Practice!!

Time for reflection

Weiser Heritage Consultancy was created in August 2023- it was created following a difficult redundancy.

As part of the redundancy agreement, several projects that I had started were given to me to continue and finish. In addition, a list of clients was agreed for me to contact and establish relationships. It seemed the perfect time to create my own private heritage planning consultancy business. This unfortunate life event led to something that could not have been foreseen back then.

Now, here I am three years later and able to reflect on the journey so far, including the successes, the challenges, the hard learned lessons and the life balance that working for yourself affords you. Despite this change coming later in life, it has been the most amazing and worthwhile experience.

I used to tell people that the business may be new, but I certainly was not! Over thirty years combined experience between the US and UK with an Interior Architecture/Design base mixed with a Conservation of Historic Buildings added on.

Building new relationships with architects, planning consultants, other heritage consultants, local authority staff (some of which are familiar faces from my time at the council) and other related professions has been great. Even getting to try new and different methods of networking across East Anglia and beyond has been an experience.

Never stop learning and being curious, you never know what may happen as a result.
